TJSloan's Journal, 09 July 2013

I readjusted my goal weight. Steve was concerned that at 150 pounds, my BMI would be 21. "A BMI of 18 is considered malnourished." He wanted me to be 165-170, which would "give you a borderline BMI between a healthy weight and overweight." Now, I ask you, if you had a choice between being well within the normal "healthy" BMI range or being on the borderline between healthy and overweight BMI range, which would you choose? So, as a compromise, I chose to change my goal weight to 160, which gives me still 51 more pounds to lose rather than 61 more pounds. I told him I would compromise at 160, but once I maintained that weight for six months or more, I wanted a very special prescription from him which would allow for a "medically necessary breast reduction". We went over 4 of the 5 criteria, which you must have some, though not necessarily all of the criteria. He has records of complaints regarding headaches from me...for several years. He has records of complaints of neck/shoulder pain. Another criteria is numbness, though he didn't specify where. The fourth criteria is indentions in the shoulders from bra straps...and yep, BINGO got those too. He couldn't remember the fifth criteria. So, I think we're on for that and he has agreed. I'm also currently in a competition with a friend of mine, we were both at 212 pounds and she's been there for a while now, unable to break the plateau to get to 200 pounds or below. I'm pretty sure once I tell her that I've dropped to 211, as competitive as she is, she'll leave me in a cloud of dust and be at 199 before I can reach 208. Lol! We will see.

I'm loving your journey. Breast reduction is the way to go it causes way too much unnecessary discomfort and pain (a high school friend of mine suffered from it, got a reduction and is now happy). A little competition is always good, it keeps you in check. i'm hoping to hear more from you. Good luck.
