BAD NEWS: no usual walk today, no usual lunch, dinner will be based on convenience and not health.

GOOD NEWS: I'm off tomorrow so I can get in a nice, long walk!!

I am so hungry by the time we got done with rehearsal I could have eaten my own arm. Kiddo is in ballet and recital is this Saturday, so I left work early because I needed to run home (30 miles away) get her and get back to do her hair/makeup, etc. for dress rehearsal. I threw a big bag of pretzels in the car and she and I ate those as we were driving. We were walking on our way to the theater when my child decides to JUMP OVER A MUD PUDDLE and SPLASHING MUD ALL OVER HER RECITAL DRESS. If looks could kill, I would have damn near killed her on the spot--I was so upset. Good news--she survived, and the dress is fine...yeah! Unless I had told you there was mud, you couldn't really tell. Robyn (kiddo's former teacher/same school) helped fix it back up. Rehearsal ran long...as it always does. Kiddo was supposed to take the stage at 5:30. It was 6:55 when they actually did. We get done with rehearsal and are rushing towards the car because the sky is getting darker and darker. We were no certain in the car than a moment--and sat there in torrential downpours with some of the small trees tops touching the ground...straight line winds. It got better and off to McDonald's we go. Where in the drive through, while ordering, another torrent of rain. I had rain in my shoes. Kiddo thought it was funny. I ordered a different meal than I would have in the past. This is a win! And even though I went to McDonald's and didn't exercise and binged on pretzels...I still was under 1800 calories.

A victory day for you! You both survived and at least one of you made the right choices! ;-) If you need a good snack recipe that you can leave in your bag, I've got a flax granola recipe in my cookbook. Look for THE RIGHT MEASUREMENTs for flax granola. Yum! I always have a serving tucked in my purse in a Ziploc.
