This week is my 3rd week on Atkins and I have been totally faithful to my diet. I have not cheated once. I am getting annoyed that I am not losing any real weight and I am not seeing a difference in my clothes. UGHHHHH!!

Diet Calendar Entry for 10 September 2010:

If you change your diet calendar so everyone can view it we might see something that is holding you up. Sometimes carbs sneak up on us and we don't even know it. I was chewing two slices of sugar free gum a day in the beginning - only to find out two weeks or so into the diet that I needed to count each piece as a carb. SO you never know what some of the older atkineers here could tell you.

I'm not a 'older Atkineer' but I can tell you what a few told me: Make sure you are drinking your water--some people advocate half your weight in ounces per day--as it can really make a difference. If you are using the Atkins bars/shakes, they can cause stalls in some people depending on your sensitivity. Weigh your food to make sure you are accurately counting carbs. Follow the Induction list carefully, and be aware of carbs/ingredients in sauces, condiments, etc. Sometimes it doesn't kick in right away--don't give up! Check out the Atkins website and the Atkins forums here for more good advice.

Thank you for the tips/ideas. I haven't been chewing any gum and therefore can't use that one. I have been drinking plenty of water in my opinion. I would say that I drink at least 90oz a day plus. Most days closer to 120+. I have only had atkins bars 3 times in the past 3 weeks knowing from reading that they may cause issues. I have not weighed any of my food so maybe that could be an idea to try. I have given up ketchup and BBQ and any other type of condiment except for creamy caesar salad dressing when I have salads which is the lowest carb count I seem to have found that I like. Maybe it is time to start exercising also. I just read that you should wait a few weeks to begin exercise due to changing too many things at once in your routine. I am just scared to gain muscle even though it would be good for me most likely the scale will go UP. Thanks again! I am not giving up I know if I eat more carbs than allowed it will be a total waste of what I have done thus far. Just wish the scale would show me a little love :)!!
