As a buddy pointed out to me, "it's a high fat diet, not a high calorie diet," so I'm ready to buckle down. I'm cutting out the cheese as suggested by some friends because it stalls people. I'm hooked on macadamias like an addict but I'll really try and not let them blow out my daily calorie count. I've got a personal challenge with that same buddy to lose five pounds in the next two weeks. Here goes.
256.0 lb Lost so far: 1.0 lb.    Still to go: 61.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Good luck! It really does get easier when you are "on plan" because the hunger goes away. Now, I immediately know if I have eaten something that is not allowed on induction because I start to feel the hunger again.

Thanks Kate! I'm also trying to pay attention to when "thirst is masquerading as hunger." Sometimes it helps, and sometimes I'm just hungry again. BTW, Costco was out of their giant cans of macadamias, I'm going to have to ration.

I just bought a can, but cant eat them, anybody want them? If I get started I wont stop, my thought was 8 days of vacation, it would be good to have to hold me over when I want something bad and while flying. Our costco was out of them for a while too, when the finally came in and I bought them, I started atkins and cant afford the extra carbs, oops.
