I finished reading Stealth Health and I am a bit overwhelmed by the information it contained and how much of what we need to eat, like fiber, vitamins, iron, so on. The book was informational, but I wasn't impressed by the recipes. Some of them sound good and did give me a couple of ideas on hiding some vegetables in some stuff I already make, but to make some of her recipes you need an hour prep time and an hour cook time. I don't have that kind of time, if I did I'd already eat better and not make hamburger helper!

Today hasn't been a good day food wise, bosses brought in pizza and ice cream cake for administrative professionals day, not what I had planned for lunch, but it was good. I've been keeping up with my exercising in the morning, but wonder is half hour a day enough? Is weight at a standstill because calories are too high? Do I think about this way too much? Yes. Part of this is that I feel like a failure to my family because I can't get this figured out and don't feed them as healthily as I should. It was going a lot better when hubby was on board, but he's not so it is hard. Like Monday, everyone wanted pizza, I was tired from working and caved to ordering pizza then I felt guilty the rest of the night.

Don't feel bad, you are trying. My hubby is actually more on board with me now than he ever has been and it is a lot easier, but when he wasn't wanting to try to eat healthy it was 3 against 1 and I was just trying to keep them satisfied. I finally took a stand and told them all that if I was doing the shopping and making the list with no help from them, then I was going to get what I wanted. I still struggle to find healthy meals that I can get them to eat, but at least we're mostly eating at home. We've also started trying to have our sides just be fruit and veggies, instead of mac'n'cheese. I've figured out my kids favorite fruits and veggies and have them on hand so that at least if we have what they like they'll eat it, and who cares if you're eating the same fruits and veggies if you're getting some servings in. Since I took my stand they've all found some things that they like, but had never tried before. Don't give up, you'll get this figured out. I'm still learning this stuff too, but someday because of our trying we'll have healthier families.

I think 1/2 hour to start your day is good. They say you only need 30min day, even though we all do much more than that.
