KatieHart's Journal, 16 October 2007

Ok, so I'm ABSOLUTELY determined to get this weight off. I've been following the Body for Life program for a couple of years and have managed to lost about 50 pounds. That's more than I've ever lost before but I'm just stuck and looking for something new. I saw the "You: On a Diet" listed so I've decided to try that after I read the book. I work at a Library so luckily I was able to get it today! Anyway, I'm hoping that a new way of eating might restart my weight loss (and my enthusiasm) so...let's get started!!

I would LOVE to hear from anyone who's following the "You: On a Diet" plan. Any tips, pros/cons, anything at all is welcome.

Thanks,
Katie

I read the book and thought it was very educational and written with a sense of humor. I learned a lot from this book and follow the basics of it, but I also combine what I have learned with weight watchers (on my own...) I got material to count points with on ebay. But you could just as well keep an eye on calories as the book suggests. The main idea is to be aware of what's going in to your body. Even keeping a journal helps. And of course increasing fitness. Dr.Oz talks a lot about the 'belly fat' and portrays it as an appetite increasing-hungry monster. That image has stuck with me. Now I always think of not feeding 'the monser' when appetite strikes (haha!). Enjoy the book. You will learn a lot of interesting things. I would also recomment Natural Cures (all though that one is not as well written and boring at times, there's a lot of interesting info in it as well). Good Luck!

Hi!! thank you for your comment!! I also hope I can loose this stubborn extra weight that does not want to go away. I am so busy and stressed out this days that I really don't know if I will be ready for Monday. I should make the commitment to be ready no matter what but, sometimes with this crazy life of mine is hard to stick to a plan. I have to be flexible, otherwise I will go Bonkers!!!.. Keep in touch !! and good luck!!!
