Tomorrow starts p90x, which will give me Saturdays off of workouts for the next few months. I decided to follow the "lean" plan in order to place a heavier focus on cardio and weight loss. I am actually kind of excited and a little nervous to start. I intend to see this through!
I have found a diet to stick to in order to drop some initial weight and I will see what happens from there. I read the book called "Wheat Belly" and am now convinced that wheat products and sugars are the reason I have gained so much weight. Eating food with wheat and refined sugars in it spikes my insulin levels and causes me to have intense hunger cravings several times during the day. By eliminating those things from my diet I will in essence cut the cord to my cravings and will ultimately eat just what my body needs.
I am not going to lie, I am scared as hell of quitting wheat. It's not going to be pretty at first. I know that I am very addicted to it and that withdrawal is going to be tough. I am actually more afraid of the diet plan than of getting into p90x, which is saying something. But after the addiction to wheat and sugar is eliminated, it should get easier. The diet part of the plan starts Monday after I have purchased and prepared my meals.
Gulp, well here goes nothing!

I am on the atkins diet, which is pretty much the same thing: cut the sugar and carbs (keep the carbs from vegetables though!), high protein. The paleo diet is very similar. I too thought it would be so hard to cut out breads and pastas, but it really wasn't. The hardest part is the first 3 days. You might go through some withdrawal symptoms (headache, body aches, bad mood... some compare it to the flu without the fever). But after those 3 days, it'll be much better and the weight will fall off for about 2 weeks! Dont forget to drink your water though!

Thank you both for the support and inspiration! Today is my first day off of carbs and sugar, and I'm feeling it! I am definitely sticking to it, though. No excuses!
