Okay. I just can't seem to get back into the groove with low carb. I am also concerned that I will have it even harder as warm weather hits. I have a harder time during the spring and summer than during the holidays. I can usually stay strong around sweets, but I LOVE fruit! Low carb allows for some fruits like berries and melon, but I want it all! LOL I love oranges and cherries and apples and grapes.

So. With that being said, I'm thinking of shaking things up and switching to WW. I have been doing some reading and I like the point system. I like the idea of having a broader range of foods while still making smart decisions and eating healthy. The flex system seems easy to follow and since I just joined a gym I can earn extra points on the days I go over. My sister has lost quite a bit on it and is very happy with the diet as a whole. My friend at work just started it so I will have a diet buddy.

My question is: Can any of you that have done WW give me some input pro and con?

Try carb cycling! You can google it! It's having lower and higher carb days and many people lose great on it. The higher carb days you eat good carbs like fruit.

Oh didn't read that last part. I do WW. I also do a modified Atkins on WW because I lose better with lower carb, but my body can't handle the protein. Plus, I love fruit. The good things about WW are they want you to focus on lean protein, lean dairy, fruits and veggies. People think it's a free for all for carbs and it's not like that any more. You get a certain amount of points per day. Then you get 49 extra points to use as you see fit. Some people use them and lose and some don't. You have to play around with them. Most fruits and veggies are free, but you eat till satisfaction and not full. You can do lower carb on the plan by focusing on the lean protein, fruits and veggies. Many people do a South Beach combo with it. You can go out to eat and have a good meal and still lose weight. It's about learning to balance foods and portion control. The bad thing is that you have to pay a weekly fee or online fee. But to me it's worth it because it keeps me accountable. For some people who don't have much to lose, they sometimes have problems losing the weight. If you have problems controlling your food intake, it may be a problem. You have to track all your food, where on Atkins you don't have to (some do). Every plan has it's good and bad. It's all about what you are willing to do to lose weight and what fits in to your life. Good luck!

Thank you! You really helped me with your info. I don't think the carb cycling would work for me just because once I eat high carbs for a day it just triggers more cravings. For me it becomes a vicious cycle that is really hard for me to break out of once it starts. Money is pretty tight so I'm not sure about the fees. I have learned that I can follow it pretty well by doing a little extra work. there seems to be a lot of calculators and guides online. I am going to do some more research this weekend and try to get started on Monday. Thanks again for your input.

Hey - you might check into LoseIt.com - I gave up on low carb :-( ...just too restrictive for me. Loseit works on a calorie budget system, and it is awesome! YOU decide what you will eat or not eat, and as long as you stay within the calories for the day, you will lose. And if you're getting close to using up the calories - go do some exercise and more will be deposited in your "account". They have some fancy equation for all this, and it WORKS!! And there's FREEDOM TO CHOOSE WITHOUT CHEATING - I love it!

OH - just read the rest of your post, lol - WW is good too, but you're kinda at their mercy with food choices to some extent - I know that some things that I liked that I knew were Ok for me - Like a bowl of oatmeal with my usual fixins just ended up being too many points. That kinda bummed me out and frustrated me. Other than that, it's great - good support, cool website, etc. Still like LoseIt better though. :-)
