strawberry1972's Journal, 22 July 2008

Well, I did it. I went through surgery yesterday and I survived. I don't know how, but I did.

I am in quite a bit of pain today and I feel like my stomach is sticking out and is bloated beyond belief! I can't function properly and I feel as though this is never going to come to pass. I have had pain in this area of my belly for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I was in pain there.

I have always had pain as a teenager as well. I would have such painful periods that I would be laid up in bed moaning for days!

Even after and in between having my children, I suffered with a painful period.

I only recently in the last year and a half been perscribed to take Depo Provera to control my Endometriosis. So far though, doctors are thinking that it isn't working to control the endomeriosis. This means that there are fibriods (like the one I had removed yesterday) developing in areas of my body where there shouldn't be any.

So, I may have to have a hysterectomy anyway. I definitely don't want to be in this amount of pain any more. I am tired of it. I just want my body back!

I understand I had a hysterectomy in '03 for my fibroid it's a tough decision to have to make. But I can tell you after years of trying every pill imaginable and Depo Povera I'm glad I had the surgery and I've felt great gynecological speaking every since
