Finally! A new low for me. Under 185 and a long time coming. I have been trying by best to ignore the worst plateau I coulde imagine. A month of very little movement in my weight. I knew that one day I would hit my goal, but I was unsure how I would ever break through the 185 mark. It feels awesome, but I am still a little wary of tomorrow. ; )

However, that being said, I did buy new undies this week, a size smaller. I put on a pair of my "skinny jeans" that I got out of my "wrong size closet". OMG. It looked like an elephant had moved out of the backside. So... I back to my "wrong size closet" and get a smaller pair. Woo hoooo they fit perfectly!! As if that was not enough, later in the day I changed into a jumper that I bought several years ago that I have never been able to wear because it was too small through the middle and behind. Oh happy day!!

So on I go. Lots to do and running out of time. I have recently taken on a couple of challenging projects that are pretty time consuming. Three actually. Two websites and a grant writing project that will turn into a full time job. It just fell into my lap so I couldn't say no to it. I will miss my life as lady of leisure.

I have a three day family reunion this weekend, followed by a week of temp work for a company I used to work for, and then a trip to help my daughter out for about a month. Pressure building up to git-r-done!

My focus will remain on healthy eating and lifestyle. Another good note, hubby is beginning to think about his own health and how foods affect it. ; ) You would hae to know the man to understand how big that one is! Anyway we had a good discussion about it last night. I bet it was lasted at least 3 minutes! Like I said... beginning....

Love it about your hub, mine's just like that. Congrats on those precious 3 minutes. So much coming up for you. I have faith in you to continue on your healthy journey. You can do it.

Congratulations! Breaking through a plateau feels so good! I'm kind of stuck in one of those right now.

Yay!! Congratulations for breaking through! And don't you LOVE shopping in your own closet?? I've pulled out things I didn't even remember buying! Love it about the panties, too! I just experienced the same thing last week! I laughed when they fell down. I did happen to have a drawer full of too small underwear so I shopped in my drawer. That sounded strange! :) Congratulations!

Oh, absolutely. I have a closet in the guesst room full of 14 and 16 that I am currently moving to my bedroom where the 20's are gone and most of the 18's. In the shed are my 10 and 12. I intend to add some fun NEW things (like undies) but the basics are all in my closet. I am looking forward to new jammies too. I have one pair that are histerical now. I have to say, I love getting out of bed and having to straighten them around my waist only to have them fall down to my hips. MARVELOUS!!

Love it, love it, love it! Hope you're donating those 20's and 18's so there's no going back! Nice job, and nothing like new underwear to feel good about yourself! (...I feel sexy all under...) :) -------------------side note here...I still haven't had the chance to try out your recipe as I didn't have the raspberry spread (though I was willing to try the strawberry we have) and don't have any onions, of all things! I need to make a trip to the grocery store and have been putting it off for days now. However...I did a REALLY modified version of the chicken - used Panko organic bread crumbs, did the pan method (in my beloved cast iron pan) and it was pretty good. I topped it with a bit of Panda Express orange sauce. It has a lot of sugar and probably other crap foods/chemicals in it, but at least it doesn't have high fructose corn syrup (aka Satan) nor MSG. It was actually pretty good, considering. I still want to try the other recipe, though, once I've gone shopping. Now here's my problem...it's not so much finding recipes, it's actually HOW to cook, you know? Like I don't think I pounded my chicken breasts enough - I thought it looked to be about half an inch thick, but it took way longer to cook than I thought. I thought they were done, but since I'm such a phobic when it comes to undercooked chicken, pork or ground meats, I cut one open. I was surprised it wasn't cooked through. So I had to leave them on longer. Then out of paranoia, I think I left them a bit too long. That's my issue - not knowing really when something is done without overcooking it or undercooking it. I'd really benefit from some kind of cooking classes, like the BASIC "how to" type for dummies. I should check to see if there's anything like that offered anywhere around here. If it was HOW to cook and they used healthy, whole foods, that would be a plus! Oh, light bulb moment here. I'm the Google queen! Why have I never just googled this stuff?! I'm sure I could pick up some cooking tips! I do appreciate your recipes and if you have any how to tips, I'm MORE than open to them! Thanks!

Wonderful! Fitting into clothes that didn't fit before is so rewarding :) Concrete evidence our bodies are getting smaller. I have one night shirt from my size 24 days that I still wear. It reminds me how far I've come. You sound like me with the projects. Sometimes you just can't say no to opportunity (or money!). Hope you have a great weekend, looking forward to seeing what you think of In Defense of Food!

redwinelover - as for pounding the chicken breasts.... the object is to get them thin enough to cook evenly, kind of like a pancake. Another tip, is try it again. After a while with the same recipe it will just come naturally. ; ) tonights recipe is baked chicken legs.... talk about easy!(I am taking them to the family reunion, along with a ham and brisket) To bake the chicken legs.... heat oven to 500 degrees with the rack in the upper third of the oven. Spray pan with olive oil spray. Lay out the chicken legs on the pan so they don't touch. Sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Poultry seasoning would be a good addition. Place in the oven for 30 - 35 minutes. Voila. Serve with brown rice and vegies. Lots of vegies.

k8... for sure about the clothing. As far as weightloss, it is a body that will fit into smaller clothes that I am after, not a lower number on the scale. About the the projects. It is worse than you suspect. The temp job is because the girl I am temping for is a very good friend. ; ) The two web projects are gratis, one for our lodge and the other for a a non-profit that my friend is starting up. The job offer is for the non-profit and I am volunteering until Jan 1. I just told her yesterday that I wanted to wait til then to go on payroll. Any body with a book on "how to EARN for dummies that volunteer all the time"!

Cool, datadoll...think I'm going to love the baked chicken legs, too! Can't screw that one up, a set temp, a set amount of time...:) I'm there! I'm going to copy this recipe, make sure I pick up chicken legs when I go shopping, too! Great tips, thanks! I hope the family reunion is a great time and free of stress (depends on the family, no? :)

Yay! Another buddy getting into sweet 16 land. I can't wait to get there myself! I didn't realize you were on this weight loss journey without your hubby joining you. That has to be difficult! Hope he converts soon. :)

High 5 datadoll!!! We seem to be cut from the same cloth...I too am looking to just fit into the old clothes; although if I reach my goal, there will a little mini-shopping spree (and I HATE shopping). BTW, I think I married your hubby's twin, mine also does not like to think about food/nutrition. :::TMI warning::: I've been thinking about the undies thing myself as my current 'wardrobe' is stretched just enough that with just the little weight I've lost, the butt shelf no longer keep them from creeping up :-)
