First day of Atkins today. I'm doing okay with it. Some hunger, but I think that is because I am not eating as much as I used to. However, I am eating until I'm no longer hungry, I just get hungry very quickly. Kind of like the mind is saying, "Where's my bread? Where is my pasta? Where is my chocolate ice cream? WAAAAAAHHHHH! I want Chocolate Ice Cream!!!!!!!!"

Just like that.

I'm a little short on veggie carbs. Have eaten 4 cups of spinach today (I hate lettuce, so spinach is my lettuce substitute) along with 1 cup of broccoli. Might be able to increase my broccoli intake? I've never been a veggie guy, so the whole raw veggie thing is VERY new for me. I've never eaten a "salad" before today (had a spinach, broccoli, and roast beef salad for lunch). I just don't know what I will like and I don't have the money to try a whole bunch of things out. So for now, it's spinach, broccoli, cauliflower and green beans.

Congratulations...you've conquered Day 1! Patience, patience...there's some low carb chocolate ice cream out there in the world, but wait until you're out of Induction and well into OWL. Good luck.

I have a stash of Atkins chocolate shakes. I had one today and it seemed to quiet the chocolate monster. :)

I'm just completing my first week. The first 4 days I wasn't sure I knew what I was doing. As I tracked my food, and exercise - basically breathing at this point - I've discovered I'm STILL burning more calories than I'm eating and my appetite is way down. Hang in there!

One of my favorite evening treats is a cold A&W diet rootbeer with 2 tablespoons of heavy cream... just like a root beer float.
