Cheeks's Journal, 30 May 2008

Tonight is the night of my first fertility shot (taking deep breaths). I've been reading some of the "complications of treatment" and the warning signs. Of course, one of the warning signs would be Weight Gain. Says that a weight gain of two pounds or more for two days in a row may be a warning sign of Ovarian Hyperstimulation. Apparently I need to weigh myself daily and report any sudden or rapid weight gain. Heck! I could gain 2 pounds in one day just by looking at food! This is going to make me paranoid! Hahaha I mean, how do you really know if you're gaining…when you're in the losing mode…does that mean that if I only lose .2 pounds instead of 1.9 pounds in a week, that I'm actually gaining???? Oh well…I guess I'll come to that when I do.

I'm helping a friend move tomorrow morning at 9….its suppose to pour out! Should be good exercise though :)

Woo hoooo! Boss just told me to go work from home the rest of the day because its so nice out! That means home with the hubby…get some exercise in before my challenge recording today and I don't have to sit in 1 1/2 hours of traffic! Yaaay!

Don't overthink the shot-- just make sure he does it as quick as possible and it will be over in no time! I don't remember my sister gaining weight during the treatment, I'll have to ask her. Go home and have a great day with your hubby! :)

Don't let yourself be too concerned over the warnings and side effects. They try to list every possible outcome so they can cover their butts for insurance purposes but most of the things they list are very rare. Odds are in your favor of everything going just fine :) I'm glad you have the day off to spend time with hubby. That'll help you feel less rushed and stressed for tonight. Best of luck with all of it!

Make sure hubby doesnt stick you in the same spot each time, cuz that hurts a bit, but its not too bad (this is coming from the girl who used to cry like i was being murdered for a blood draw or any other needle, even including a home blood sugar test) all in all i went through over 200 shots and now have beautiful 2 year old twins keep your spirits up and you will get through this

Thanks for your support on this everyone! This really is a fear of mine, and "Dr. Hubby" just did it. I was panicing...but he didn't hesitate at all, and before I knew it it was in me. It stings a little, but I think its probably more in my head than anything. He said after, now see, this wasn't that bad, now you won't mind tomorrow night when we do it. I said...ummmm I wouldn't go that far! Unfortunately I panic every time a needle is involved. I hope this part gets easier! I hope we get the same results that you did Jenny =) Thanks again gbags, I love you! =D
