Ate 1,000+ calories over my RDI yesterday. Ugh. I got home from work about 8:30PM and had already had my healthy 450 calorie dinner while at work. My boyfriend had a box of fried chicken with all the fixings, so with his encouragement, I helped myself to a plate. I didn't go overboard and only had one piece of chicken, one roll and a small serving of mashed potatoes. Then, I had been planning popcorn all day, so I had my bowl of popcorn. As I am eating my popcorn, my boyfriend disappears into the kitchen for a while. When he returns, he has a bowl of ice cream for each of us. I was actually kind of angry at this point, but I took the ice cream anyways. This is the first time he has sabotaged me in this way. He is trying to lose weight also. I think since he was "cheating", he wanted a partner in crime. I believe I will have a talk with him today. My goals are too important to me to lose track of over someone else's interference. Also, I need to be stronger if this happens again and just refuse the treat.

My husband and I can also be "partners in crime" when it come to eating sweets. Having a talk with your boyfriend is a good strategy. Ultimately, we have to commit and decide to stick to our planned menu no matter what's going on around us. It ain't easy, but there it be!

So, I got on the scale this morning and I had gained 3 pounds, ugh. Hopefully most of that is water weight. I only binged this one time, so I can't possibly have gained that much in fat, I hope. Today starts first of my weekly three days of the military diet. I should be back below 250 by my weigh in on Wednesday. I have been on this journey long enough that the weight fluctuations do not upset me like they did in the beginning. I know this is a long process with many ups and downs to come. I counted the weeks since I started my diet and got 34 weeks. To date, I have lost 35 pounds, so almost exactly one pound a week. It took me 18-months to gain 100 pounds, and it seems it will take me longer than that to lose it. On a positive note, I saw my therapist today, and he mentioned that it is now becoming noticeable that I am losing weight. I can also finally notice a difference when I look in the mirror. A NSV in the face of a gain helps I guess.

Also, I did have a talk with my boyfriend about sabotaging my diet with the chicken and the ice cream. He apologized. Turns out, the ice cream was almost gone and he was trying to get rid of it by giving me a serving. Not an excuse, but somewhat understandable lol.

Wow -glad you had the talk. I'd gently remind him you're not the garbage can ... that the other serving could stay in the freezer if it's that big a waste. It can be so easy to want a partner in crime rather than success. Makes failing easier.

Gracious! It can be difficult when the "other" is not on board with your plan. Kudos for tackling it head on and not ignoring it. There's lots of hidden salt in take out food. Flush it out with lots of water.

Those "sleeper cells" have to watch out for them, that's what I call my kids.😅 Yesterday was my hard day. Pizza, burgers, FRENCH FRIES, I detest commercials. Lol
