Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 19 December 2012

I am officially covered in bruises. Maybe this is why I can't stay out of the break room today. My body is so freaking sore right now that I don't even want to think about doing barn chores tonight.

First on Tuesday my cow got jealous. I was walking down to get the grain cart when hubby yelled at me so I leaned over the hitching post and he gave me a kiss. I was right next to my cow. She head butted my thigh which had a steel pipe on the other side so there was no give. I have a bowling ball sized bruise on my thigh from that.

Last night it was just little man and I home. He is getting three teeth and is the crankiest I've ever seen him. I can't put the man down! I was grabbing something from 8 yr olds room and both of us went flying. Luckily I caught myself with my elbow and my knee so he was cradled for the most part. This is where I miss my cushy bits. Cushy bits don't bruise and swell like non-cushy bits. So.. my elbow and my knee on the same side as the bruised thigh are now swollen and purple.

I should really stop eating because there is no way I'm doing a ton of squats and lifting but I just can't stop! Someone quick come and duct tape my mouth shut.

damn jealous bovines! my dad & his brother & cousins had a made-up language as they grew up on the ranch. cows = d'faces. bulls = rahl-t-rahls. calves = blookitdums. I'm spelling these phonetically because I don't think they came up with a writtne language. As me & my siblings grew up, dad & them still used these names to refer to cattle. :)

Rest up and go have a good talking to with the cow. Maybe even give her a kiss or too. :)

Can totally relate with the cows and bruises! I've got some nice bruises on my knees and foot. My dad decided he wanted 5 yearling heifers tied up. So lucky me, I get to help my dad. They didn't want to co-operate at all. I got kicked in the knees and stepped on the same foot twice. But bruises heal in time! Good for you for saving the little man. The things we have to do as moms! Will power girl...you have will power and can stay away from the food!
