BINGED!! BINGED!! BINGED!! ALL WEEKEND. I binged on spending money, I binged on carbs and I binged on alcohol and now I am so angry at myself. I don't know what I was thinking. I've been so good with all three of these things and this weekend I lost my mind. I bet I ate more carbs in two days than I have in the last two months combined.

I was up .2 on the scale Saturday morning and I was so mad and I think that's where it started. Plus my class was over and the stress was relieved and I just went nuts. It was awful.

Now to get back in the swing of things. I guess I don't have any other choice, right?

Trepetski, is there something specific that could have set you off besides the silly little .2? Have you eaten anything in the previous 2-3 days that could have caused mad cravings? Sometimes when we go back to our food calendar or journal entries we get a clearer picture of what could have triggered a binge. Second, it is a new day. Learn from this binge and find ways to prevent them from happening again. Losing this weight is a struggle and a learning experience. All we can do is learn from our mistakes and find ways of avoiding them.

Sure you do, you always have a choice. You can choose to keep binging but you will only be more unhappy and unhealthy. I am sure you will make the right choice to get back on plan. We all make mistakes and one weekend won't de-rail you forever. Just get right back at it and you will start feeling better and you will start losing again. I am in a plateau and this weekend was full of temtations. My grandma is down making cobblers, my step mom made some mexican casserole - one of my favorites, and my husband binged this weekend making it even harder for me but I chose to not deviate from my woe and has it paid off yet? No - still stuck in a plateau and am even up a few ounces. I know though that if I had chose to eat off plan this plateau would last longer and I may even go up in weight. It's all about choices and you are in control. You can do it. :)

You're stil here and haven't given up so shake it off and start again. That's probably the hardest part is the falling and getting back up. Hope your week goes great.

Thanks everyone. I wish I knew what set this off but I have no clue. Saturday started off good but then I went to lunch with a friend and that is where it all went down hill for the rest of the weekend. I'm back to basics today but I'm sure getting back to normal will be rough.

Could have been a lack of preplanning. Something as simple as going out to lunch w/o knowing in advance of what you are going to order, or being so hungry that we just don't care. This is something that we may find ourselves weak. But you can overcome it.

Okay, so you binged. This is not a crime. .2 pounds is pretty darn good for the result of a splurging time period. In life there are ups and downs. When you go for lunch with a friend decide if you are going to splurge or remain low carb. If you do splurge then try to keep that to 1 time for at least that day. If possible don't make the mistake so many of us do to keep splurging with the excuse I already did it so it won't make any difference. Being upfront with yourself and realistic about your choices can make a huge difference. The big thing is that you now have the choice to determine what you will do this week. Good luck!

Actually, the .2 was before the two days of binging. I am going to be afraid to get on the scale next Saturday.

If you weigh in isn't til next Saturday I am sure you can make some wonderful progress this week. It might not be the numbers you are hoping for, but it's still 5 days to work toward what you can.

Did your friend encourage you to eat something you shouldn't or was it unrelated to your friend? Sometimes we eat to please others or we use that as an excuse to eat what we want. I did that at my friend's house the other day because I didn't want to tell her I couldn't eat plain yogurt. Whatever your reason was try to sort it out, try not to repeat the same mistake and don't beat yourself up.

Tarah, you are still down nearly 22 pounds AND you are still in "onederland"! That is quite an accomplishment. So while the past (and the key word here is past) weekend wasn't what you would heve liked it to be, it is in the past, and this is a new day, and the start of a new week!! Get back at it, and don't look back. We are right here with you, ready to help in any way we can!

Thanks ladies. I have a feeling I may need a little extra support over the next couple of days. They are gonna be rough.
