Yesterday, as I made my way home from the gym, I was thinking about what I wanted to have for dinner. I looked at the clock and I knew I would be home around 7pm. My day is full and after work, I battle the traffic get to the gym, workout for 40 to 60 minutes and then drive another 25 minutes home. As I sat there driving, the thought of starting to cook something at 7:15 pm (thats after a quick shower and letting the dog out)started to wear on me. Do I want to wait until the oven is 450 degrees so that I can have roasted veggies? Do I want to start cutting up the chicken, putting it into a skillet or grill, and then cooking? Do I want to thaw out some frozen green beans just to eat a few bites. No. I know some might do alot the night before, but after I eat dinner, clean up and then make my lunch for tomorrow, its now 9pm and frankly I'm tired. I crawl into bed and just relax. I don't really want to deal with any more meals if you get my drift. So I decided that what I really really want is...a wife. Yes, you heard it here first. I want a wife. I want someone who will have dinner ready or at least warm until I get home from the gym. The dog has already been taken out, the decisions about dinner have been planned and all I have to do is take a shower and sit down to eat. Sounds sexist? Not at all. My sister does this for her husband every day unless they go out and I would do it too if I wasn't working...I just think if you have someone in the house who isn't working they certainly can have dinner ready when you get home. I know I did when I didn't work. So male/female...at this point I don't care. I just think a wife would make better food...trust me...I've never had a BF or husband who could cook worth a damn...so its a wife for me!

And just think of all the fashion tips I'll get too! Win win.

Sounds perfect. I am actually fortunate enough to stay home with my son and be a "housewife". I love it. I keep my house clean, spend time with my son, pick my daughter up from school each day and have dinner on the table every night at 6:30. Very stereotypical but I love it. Comes with a lot of sacrifices financial but my kids will only be young once. But for all the working moms out there, kudos to you. I did that too when my daughter was a baby and there is nothing easy about it. But boy do you sleep at night!!

You know they have a country song about a married couple wanting a wife...and I agree. I could handle having someone have the house cleaned, the clothes washed, and the meals cooked. :)

Oh for the day when all the jobs arent my responsibility! Hubby does the occasional outside stuff, (chopping down garden bushes, cleaning eaves) and does the dishes, but that is all! I have just started full time work, and the only help I can honestly say I get from my teenage (inbetween school-college) son is hoovering (we asked him to do this, but he has to be prompted!) and washing my car (we asked for this also, in lieu of him getting that vacation job, which he never seemed to manage). Why isnt life like the ads on TV!!!! Sparkling windows, polished floors, sitting sipping wine in a pristine-kept garden - it doesnt happen round where I live, thats for sure!

Sounds like your pushing thru it all. You got alot on your plate and thats ok.How bout trying on your day off making up some meals that either you can thru in the micorwave and reheat or put in the crock pot well at work. I do it with chili and homemade sause or pot roast. I also will cut my chicken and marinate it so when I come I can throw it all in the oven well I shower or do other stuff. I to usually dont get home till 7-8pm. good luck and keep it up

Before I remarried, I lived back home with my mother. And it is easier with two females in the house. You understand things (things that must be explained in detail to husbands and children). Unfortunately, if I asked my husband for a wife....he would so get the wrong idea.
