So, the weekend is finally over. Do you ever feel like your eating is great during the week, only to be sabatoged in two days? We had a barbecue on Saturday. It was great seeing all of Ryan's brothers, their wives, the kids, and a couple of friends too. I don't think I really did that bad. I kept listening to myself, and only ate when I was hungry, but I felt like I was grazing all day! And then there was the champagne...yummm....mimosa's...'nuff said.
So, my friend Kristin came out for the bbq, and brought her 16 month old - so cute! - it was about 7pm, and she was getting ready to go home, because she didn't want to keep the little one out too late. She grabbed her purse, and couldn't find her keys! We must have had 10 people searching the house for 3 hours, still couldn't find anything! My nephew Mason loves keys (he's almost two, I think he's just at that stage), so I asked him, "Maymay, where are the keys?" He jumped up and ran into one of the guest bedrooms, and looked under the bed, and then said, "they aren't there!" Later, his dad asked him the same thing, and he started going upstairs, but his dad didn't follow.
We were finally going to call a locksmith, until we found out it could cost upwards of $400 just to have them come out and have a key fitted! Kristin and the baby ended up staying the night. It was dark, and I was beginning to think the keys must have grown legs and walked away, or ended up in one of the many diaper bags that were there that evening - a total of 6 kids under the age of 3 were there. The next morning, my FIL was out on the deck upstairs, and looked in one of the lanterns, and there they were!!! I'm positive Mason took them upstairs. He's the only one who could have done it!
Sunday we went to a classic car show. My SIL Jen has a 1967 mustang fastback. It won a couple of awards, and she even got a few offers to buy it! Those car shows can be very dangerous, with all of the "Fair" foods...you know, the cotton candy, jumbo corn dogs, funnel cakes, all of those horribly delicious foods! I did have one corn dog, but hopefully all of the walking, and the healthy breakfast and dinner will negate whatever damage I've done.
Oh, and we finally found out that we have to be out of our Lathrop house on Friday! It's great finally knowing. And we'll get $1800 for moving out, and so will our roommates. That money is going straight into the savings account!
