I discovered Pasta makes me hungrier quicker. I might feel full at first, but it definitely disappears. My hunger pangs were getting better, until I made spaghetti. I had spaghetti and though I actually consumed more calories I was hungrier sooner after. Seemed like an endless pit. I ate an apple and almonds and that settled it a bit. So I started to think that as much as I love pasta, the way my body reacts to it is not so good -- it just digests it right up and triggers hungers sooner I think. I know I need to make healthy calorie choices that are - not just count calories. One of my friends gave me the book Ultra-metabolism today, she said it may help me understand calorie content, after scanning through it, looked interesting, so I will start reading that tonight.

So far I am keeping up with the exercise challenges: JM 30 day shred and walking at least 30 minutes at least 5 x a week. And as I get stronger, I will step the length and/or intensity up.

Protein and high fiber foods digest more slowly than foods like pasta. The higher the glycemic index, the quicker foods digest. Look for a whole grain pasta and pair it with veggies and protein to keep your fuller longer. I

Yes - Suzi161 is correct. I choose to avoid pastas, rice, white potatoes, and other starchy vegetables - they are like sugar they way they metabolize and cause me to feel hungry and just crave more of them. Proteins, and low glycemic index foods work better. Good luck!

I definitely felt less hungry today with better choices and even at less calories! Yesterday's spaghetti was a learning lesson. Still need to enter in my dinner which was homemade tomato soup - hardly any milk or sugar, so hopefully tomatoes won't be too bad? I need to continue to research.

I forgot - besides the tomatoes, there are carrots and celery I added to the soup. I better just print out a list of "low glyciemic index foods" and stop guessing.
