The Weight Watchers points quiz gives me 28 points as my daily target; I think that's too high. When I did Winning Points back in 2004, a weight range of 200-225 was given 24 points. So, I am cutting my points back to 26 first, to see how that works, and if it doesn't, I'll go back down to 24 points. I am going to mix up each day's caloric intake a bit, to see if I can jolt my body into shedding some weight.

I agree with you. I was given a daily points target of 29 (I'm a nursing mom), but if I was on the old method, even figuring in my extra points for nursing, my range would have been 24-29. There's a big difference in calories between 24 and 29 points! Sooo, since I was feeling in a rut (Over three weeks, I only lost a pound), I have switched to the old way and given myself my old range. The rut is gone! I lost 1.5 lbs last week, and my scale says that I've lost another pound in the last three days. I think we're on the right track!

Good luck with the new method! I am confident your body will respond and you will be much happier with your scale. You could even try doing 24 points for 2 or 3 days of the week and then 26 for 2 or 3 days and then one splurge day. Our bodies like it when we have a splurge because they relax and think the famine is over! Haven't you ever had a big holiday dinner and then lost a bunch of weight the next week when you go back on plan? Same idea. So I do think that you are on the right track and you will see results soon. Have a great day.

Why don't you try what the quiz says for a week and see how much weight you lose! As you lose the weight, the points will get lower and lower. I would much rather lose weight eating alot, then eating a little. People seem to think the less you eat, the more you lose. But most people need to eat to lose. Take the quiz again to be sure! But I eat every point given to me. The more I can eat now and lose, the more I can eat while maintaining. Plus, if you check out the WW boards, you would not believe how many people complain of not losing because they didn't eat all their daily points. Good luck to whatever you decide to do though!
