I was quite surprised with my weigh in yesterday. Last time I stepped on the scale, a couple weeks ago, I was almost at 130, 128 or something. To go down to 120 was unexpected. I started a new lifting program, soon the loads are going to be heavy and usually it makes me gain weight.

Today is lifting day, again lol! this new program is very interesting, I used to work on power lifts with Crossfit, now I'm working on Olympic Snatch and Clean-Jerk and even if the lifts remain the same, Olympic style has a different depth and for me it's much harder. Working on my squat form, and overall technique, I don't lift a lot of weight but it's very demanding.

I was thinking that, if I can get some results and get to a decent weight, I would register to my first meet next year. A meet is the name given to a weightlift competition. I'm still planning on doing the Crossfit Games Open next year too. I think it's very important to have this kind of goal, it gives a meaning to my training!

I would love to join a weightlift club, unfortunately I didn't find one yet in my area. I have all the equipment and the will to progress, but working with other people helps a lot with technique and form. Right now I'm working with my camera, making videos and watching them afterwards to check where the problems are. It is painful to see myself sometimes lol! My style is still beginner, lots of mistakes and shows how much work I need to do.

Life is good, tough and sad sometimes, but it's good.

Every time I see your journal, I keep telling myself I need to dig my weight bench out from under the clutter I've stacked on it in the last year. I'll throw another mental post-it up, tell myself to follow the lead of committed folks like yourself.

Why don't YOU make a club and put it on the weightlifting forums or something like that! You may be surprised by the responce - I'm sure there are more of you out there! Right on! I love today's journal. You sound motivated. I like your idea of recording yourself, but I wonder if you are being a tougher critic on yourself? I am. Some ppl see NO flaws in them self I see them all! lol (in me I mean) I am sure your workouts aren't as beginner as you think. You've been doing this for a while but I agree, always room for improvement! I know what you mean about other ppl helping w/ tech and form. I partnered up in a class yesterday using resistance bands and squatting and lunging w/ eachothers weight. It was awesome! I agree w/ Mom, make a club!

Great job on all fronts! Your commitment to exercise is very motivating. I need to find some things to do with my newly acquired fitness. I've never been physically capable of "doing" anything sport or fitness related before in my life so it will be a bit of trial and error to find some things I enjoy.
