On all the diets that I've been on in my lifetime, I've noticed that if I totally cut out bread, potatoes, and rice, I'll lose weight. That's all well and good, but it's very hard to go without eating any bread, or even some kind of potato or rice. On my last Atkins diet I was so determined to lose weight that I really think I was starving myself and that's not healthy, especially at my age. I want to lose weight but I don't want to hasten my time to the grave.
