MsRikki's Journal, 27 February 2008

Alright..so I didn't weigh in last week. The weather was HORRIBLE. I was not skiing down the hill to get to a Weight Watchers meeting. Then, my son was sick for 5 days straight, ending in a visit to the ER. Diagnosis? The boy needed an enema! I know..TMI.

Anyhoo, I barely followed the plan over the last 2 weeks. I mean..I did, but usually at dinner time when I was rushed and everything was frozen, I ate things that definitely weren't core AND didn't keep track of my weekly points. On top of that, this past Saturday, the youth at my church had a dance, I was in charge of the pictures, and I had to eat what was there: Rigatoni and Fried Chicken Wings. I positively pigged out!

I so did NOT want to step on the scale today, for fear of the damage I did. BUT..I lost a pound! WOOT! After the 2 weeks I had, I'm ecstatic about that!
247.0 lb Lost so far: 14.0 lb.    Still to go: 87.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

I know what you mean about having stress and eating emotionally and for energy. That is my track record, and I have to fight every day to not eat for comfort and relaxation. I'll be thinking about and praying for you this week. I hope the weight loss inspires you to get back into it and feel good :)

Thanks! Yes..I'm definitely inspired. I feel like going shopping for healthy food..or at least defrosting my salmon for tomorrow. LOL!

I know - It is so much easier when there is healthy food in the house :) My hubby and son just need to be persuaded to get their junk food out of the house, so I am not tempted...But I am getting more and more experience under my belt of catching myself at the moment right before splurging and getting out of my kitchen. The hardest time for me is after 7pm...But if I can just get busy doing something else,I have so much better odds of going to bed instead of jacking up on food. I admit it...I am a food junky :P But what keeps me going is that I love that feeling of triumph over a hunger craving. :)

Hey Ms. Rikki~ Wow, you are doing great even tho you "positively pigged out" - ha! 14 pounds off anyways! I have been doing better the last couple of days, mainly because of this book I've been reading - Revolution in World Missions...it's written by a missionary from India...it has really got me thinking!!! He came from an area where native missionaries are winning souls to Christ by the thousands but have little to no support money... he was shocked when he came to the U.S to see the incredible wealth of Americans in general, but especially of Christians. He talks about our wealth thru completely different standards than we are used to... makes me think everytime I go to spend a dollar on something unnecessary or feel like snacking, because even when I am hungry, it is no comparison to the hunger those servants of the Lord feel every day. I have found it easy to let myself go a little hungry every now and then...I am still eating meals, but at the times when I shouldn't eat more, it has been easy not to when I think about this book. I am really compelled to do something to help support some missionary work there...apparently, one missionary family can live on about a dollar a day! Anyways, I just wanted to touch base and cheer you on - I am looking forward to getting another 5 pound star soon - probably not this week tho (I was at 12.5 lbs. last week) Keep in touch! Reine p.s. Glad to hear your son was ok!
