JB Wise's Journal, 11 February 2008

Oh my day 2! I haven't cheated at all.....and there were muffins at work today....oh, those work treats! My will is strong, but boy cutting out the Diet Coke is the hardest on me...headache city! Sugar-free Jello is my new best friend! Day 2 and already very aware that I need more variety....Here's to day 3!

1 c lowest carb pb u can find, 1 c splenda, 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla. Bake at 350 for 13 min or until firm. I cool mine off b4 eating them. There kind of crummy but good.

UGH! I know what you mean about "work treats", I work in a medical office. Everyone and their mom brings in "treats" all the time. Just think of them as the enemy and just resolve yourself to stay away. Make sure you keep a lot of Atkins friendly snacks around to help you when you feel weak. It gets easier after induction because you can have nuts, but in the meantime keep focused.

Awesome, Thank you for the recipe! Any good Atkins brand snacks out there?

I would stay away from the Atkins prepared foods for now. Wait until you get into the OWL phase. They don't necessarily make you stall, but they do for some people and you wouldn't know it if you didn't lose that much during induction that it was because of the bars. That being said, I prefer the Safeway brand low-carb shakes. The Atkins bars are good for emergencies but I personally do better if I only eat 1/2 of one. Drink lots of water with them too. :)

You are awesome! Thank you! They looked on the pricey side so I bought some celery instead...Have a Great Night! Here's to tomorrow!

I buy my Atkins bars at Sam's club. They are a bit cheaper there and you can get a bigger box. They have them with the diet stuff. My daughter and husband like to eat them so I try and keep them on hand rather than those high carb granola bars and such. The morning start bars are only 2 net carbs and are a bit smaller than the advantage bars. I don't eat them much myself, but like to have them on hand for days when I know I'm going to be out running around and may not be able to take the time for an Atkins friendly meal. I also buy nuts that are packaged in individual servings for this purpose as well. I would hold off on both until you are finished with Induction, but these are good strategies for the long term.

Awesome! Great ideas. Day three is chuggin along. I have really noticed some added positive energy today. I'm starting to feel, not so weighed down.
