Multiplicity1's Journal, 21 April 2010

Today is a good day. It is beautiful day outside and I am happy that I have lost weight after my retreat. I lost 1.2 lbs. yesterday and another 1.3 lbs. today and last week I lost 5 lbs. So today I weighed 227.5. I can't wait to get under 200. 140 seems so far away. I try to concentrate on just what is in front of me but sometimes I can't help but be overwhelmed by the overall goal. 87.5 more lbs. to lose. It seems impossible when I look at it in one big amt. I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has lost a large amount of weight whether you kept it off or not. Any encouragement or tips you can give me would really be appreciated. Aside from being overwhelmed by my overall goal I'm not in a bad space. I had some feelings last night - I couldn't tell if they were cravings or not. I did eat cheese yesterday and almonds. Today I ate cheese again but no almonds so I'll see if I have any of those feelings crop up again. I have decided to cancel my Y membership although I feel a bit guilty about doing so - I am walking nearly every day and plan to start doing exercise DVD's at home this week. My daughter is out of school by Tues. so she can clean up all her mess in the living room and I can do the rest. I am still trying to get 25 carbs in a day which is harder than it seems. I will post Beck Diet Solution tips again starting tomorrow.

Your doing great, just keep your eye on one goal at a time..I do 10lb goals that way its not overwhelming. The only way we will keep it off is if we may it our lifestyle...not a diet. We cant go back to the way we used to eat and thats ok...we got fat eating like that...lol. :)

Boy is that the truth. I am absolutely convinced that eating high carbs gave me diabetes and worsened it and by reducing my carbs I have been able to go off my insulin and my diabetes medications. I don't want to go backwards and get sicker again.
