I’m back to work today! I had to take a full week off to tend to my very sick little boy. I work in a nursing home, and I’ve been here long enough to know that during Nurses Week (or any holiday at all) residents families bring us in treats upon treats. And, sure enough, in rolled the coffee cakes at 7am. 7 coffee cakes. Old me would be hitting them repeatedly until they were gone. But, I’m definitely strong, and I’m feeling zero temptation! I have had my coffee and 3 (yes 3) giant, beautiful Granny Smith apples. I have to eat, to avoid temptation but to also keep my energy up. This is a very physically demanding career, which is part of my love for it. I’m sure I’ll face more treats down the road today, but I’ve got a plan. 🍏🍏🍏
