holidaybunny's Journal, 02 March 2016

I hate to say it, but I'm pretty upset with myself, and am kind of scared to look at the scale tomorrow. I binge ate a whole box on girl scout cookies and just generally ate a lot of food today, although as the day progressed, I was keeping tabs in my mind, by night, I lost control. The stress of midterms and having no time definitely doesn't help. I just need to make my way to the finish line. That's what I'm telling myself, but it's so hard when I put pressure on myself from other ends.

Those Girl Scouts are little demons peddling their devil cookies! A box of Samoas can do me in in no time flat. The good news is that they made the boxes smaller!

Funny, I posted about them. We should just give those girls money and have them donate them. Diet Killers they should be called!

I have avoided the GS cookies this year...so far. Over at my son's house they have about 10 boxes, all different kinds, staring at me every morning!

Been there. At some point you just figure (when there's 5-6 cookies left) "might as well finish off the box." I wonder why I don't just throw them away? After all, if I eat them they are just as "gone" as they would be if I threw them away. And I would have been sooooo much better off. Note to self: There's more than one way to "kill off" a box of cookies.

I think my brothers and I must have been weird kids. Instead of eating all of our Halloween candy straight off, we'd see who could make it last the longest. But that early training in rationing sweets serves me well today. If rationing those Thin Mints isn't your strong suit, then yeah, keep them out of the house! I like how many of the Scouts who are set up in front of stores selling cookies have a donation jar so you can still support Scouts without going home with cookies.

I have avoided them also. It is so hard because they are so good. But they do have a sugar free cookie. my husband got some last year but don't remember what kind they was or if he liked em. He just gor them for the cause. we like the ones with the toasted coconut and chocolate strips on top.

Don't you just hate it when that happens? I have caved in to "just one cookie" and ended up eating 4 or 5.

Carmel Delights, Samoas, either way they are all divine! When you feel the walls of pressure pushing in and down on you... take a moment... to forgive yourself for being weak. We are only human, and sometimes we crack. Don't let it be a defining moment. Instead let it lead you back to where you want to be. Like a favorite piece of my china that belonged to my great granny. That thing is riddled with hairline cracks that intersect and cross all over it! Each one she use to tell us was from another precious dinner with the family and friends she had come to her house. That platter has character and is still often used on my table proudly. No it isn't new or perfect, but heck neither am I! That platter still has a purpose and is perfect for the big turkey, chicken or roast! Holidaybunny - you are fine - you just had a crack - but get back there and don't be frustrated with you, remember you have lots of character! Tomorrow is a brand new day - a gift - enjoy the present.

Dollar General sells a Clover Valley version of Samoas that are even better than the ones the Girl Scouts sell. I'm not saying it was aliens. Don't sweat a blip, just don't make it a habit.
