I hope you have a productive day - take it easy if it gets too hot! Raining and gray here right now!

I'm sure it's very rewarding to make your home your 'own'; unfortunately, I fall more in your exes camps where my own abode is concerned and I need to get that 'Tidy Up' book as a start to fix that! Basil/fruit smoothie sounds like a great way to start your day . . . yes, don't get so caught up that you forget to eat!

Leigh it's a slow work in progress forcing this 50's ranch kicking a screaming at me into the 21st century. LOL. It was in pretty good shape with what my Dad called "good bones" when I bought it 6 years ago but in need of some updating. Thankfully former owners had updated all but one window, replaced the original kitchen cabinets with nice ones, replaced the roof, and had it resided with nice steel siding. I do bits and pieces as time and money allow. break is over, back to painting.

Good that you're enjoying doing it, and feeling pleased about the result 😀 And I've been a smoothie person, but I have to say putting basil in there would tempt me! I love all things spicy and herby 😀

Heidi 3/4 to a cup of basil. I add a banana but you don't have to, and buttermilk or almond or coconut milk, some ice cubes. Might need a touch of sweetener if you don't add some fruit. My next door neighbor brought me a small one one day, fell in love with them. I often use lime basil in it, really good. Lemon balm also makes a yummy smoothie.

Yay!! the paint is done!! Now to let it dry a bit and caulk a few places on the chimney and clean up the paint mess, stuff scattered all over my front yard and driveway. I still have paint left so will use it other places. My side garage door still needs painting but it's not as much as a priority as the front. Glad the clouds returned as it's keeping it a bit cooler. I can now tackle some neglected backyard chores.

Kelly, no where as persistent as you getting things done. Your dominant arm must really have muscles with all the painting and sanding you have been doing. My right arm is dang worn out. The clouds went away, the air is heavy and hard to breathe. Both pollen and mold are sky high. Stuck inside in the ac for a bit hoping the clouds return and on the couch waiting for drugs to kick in. Once they kick in will do some things inside for awhile. The caulking is done though I may add a bit of that expanding foam before winter in a few places in the eaves. So happy I have the painting done.

Since when is painting not exercise? Whew!

Michelle, that's why I made the comment to Kelly, my right arm is exhausted and my hand muscles worn out. I really want to do a suspension workout but it means using my arm, not sure it will hold my weight. Might try it anyway during the Chief's game.

My favorite super simple buffalo chicken marinade for dinner works terrific on pork as well. 1/2 balsamic vinegar and 1/2 Frank's hot sauce and a bit of salt. A dipping sauce of plain equal parts plain yogurt, blue cheese and buttermilk with a bit of fresh ground pepper. Yummo. Many less calories than the traditional buffalo chicken that I have been making since the early 70's. Brother worked as a cook in a Buffalo NY bar back when they first became popular there. I started making wings way back then with the original recipe.

Grammy, not as much done as I wanted to. But all good. The body said enough. Chiefs and Broncos opening the season, a huge rival. Glad I figured out a way to watch without paying the big bucks for cable or satellite. I learned about internet TV here last year and disconnected my satellite and saved over $100.00 a month. Now I've learned about a digital antenna for a one time purchase of $35.00 I can get the local channels again with no monthly fees. All good.

Leigh, so easy and you can use whatever you like in the sauce sour cream for low carb. I think it fits most plans except vegan and total vegetarian. I like boneless chicken thighs because they are so moist and tasty but you can use whatever you like. Marinate an hour or so and dip the chicken in the marinade as you turn them on the grill. Use whatever hot sauce you like I like Franks because it is just peppers, vinegar and salt and not quite as hot as Tabasco and I like it's flavor.

Unfortunately, I don't have a grill -- could I just marinate and oven-bake the chicken?
