80 carbs today already and I’m hungry. It’s not even 1pm. We have happy cows here in Cali and our local creamery makes the best plain Greek yogurt. It has been my staple and I give it a lot of credit for my success. I cut out a ton of sugar and carbs by switching over to plain from the flavored yogurts. Here’s the problem that I am facing today. That brand is the only one I like. I can’t stand Chobani plan yogurt or any of the others I have tried. They actually give me the gag reflex. My store has been out of it for about a week now. I couldn’t come up with a good/easy replacement for it, it saved me pretty much every day around 9:30-10am. So, I have been trying plain oatmeal with a couple of berries in it. There is just so many carbs in oatmeal. I will get this figured out somehow.

I showed the Mr. my countdown to vacation screen and it had 1 month to go on it. His eyes got big and he said, “I have a month to lose 40lbs?” I advised him that would be a terrible idea. I recommended he start logging, if he is really serious about wanting to get some of the weight off. He looked at me like I was an insane person when I did a workout at 9pm after getting home from the movies last night. I guess I’m still feeling guilty about the pizza. I also knew we have to take back some running shoes we bought him today after work, they were bothering his feet after a few trips out, so I’m not sure how much time I will have to get in a workout today. I noticed he was scanning his food this morning, so that’s a great sign. By the way, if you are a Star Wars fan, Solo is a good one! I hope you all are having a great week.

A friend of mine said that Solo was just ok, its good to hear another opinion. You might try cottage cheese with some fresh peaches or berries in it, that is, if you like cottage cheese. I love it!! We used to eat it with pineapple, but since pineapple has a ton of carbs, I just eat it plain. Its filling and good for you.

Do you eat string cheese? Nuts?

Sorry they are out of your yogurt. It's difficult because eating carbs can increase hunger. Do you like eggs or tuna or chicken salad?

As a high protein snack I love cottage cheese with cucumbers and tomatoes. Sprinkle some pepper and, if you like, balsamic vinegar on top and it's delicious. I usually omit the vinegar. I can't stand plain greek yogurt either but I find it tolerable with thawed frozen fruit mixed in. If I'm having a sweet craving I top it with hunny too. Hope this helps.

I’m a Star Wars fan and I thought Solo was very meh. The only highlight in my opinion was Donald Glover. They should have just made a Lando movie, imo.

I like full fat ricotta with tomatoes and mini cucumber slices for a lowish carb snack. Not sure how it'd be with fruit if you're looking for sweet.

If you are still hungry increase your protein intake 😉

Thanks all! I will definitely try ricotta! Cottage cheese is a great idea too, I didn't even think of that. You guys rock. I need to do better about having more protein available. Funny how the opinions on Solo vary. The first time we watched it the theater got evacuated 65% of the way through the film. We had to go back and watch all of that again and I still enjoyed it, even though it was the second time through. I wasn't a big fan of The Last Jedi though, that movie felt like a parody to me. It was so long and I just felt bored.

I bought an inexpensive yogurt maker from Amazon and make my own fresh Greek style yogurt. I use full fat milk and a small container of plain yogurt for the initial starter then just use 1/2 cup of my own yogurt as concurrent starter.

Clover is the brand I like Glen. Nothing more fitting than seeing Solo, solo...hahahaha. I never even thought to try and make my own yogurt @chow moore. I'll have to look into that!

It’s delicious, fresh and creamy. Way better than standard store brands and no additives. I love to add a swirl of maple syrup to a dish. Tangy and sweet and oh so good for your tummy!

Peasy3— I love cottage cheese and it is a powerhouse of nutrition but has a fair amount of sodium which doesn’t work well with my WOE So I decided to make my own. It tasted wonderful, but ended up like one big ball of mozzarella and took about 2 quarts of milk to make less than a cup worth. Not worth the effort or the money, but it was fun.

Do you have a Aldi by you? Try the Greek plain yogurt that they have.

No unfortunately, no Aldi. Sounds good though. I found a huge container of the Clover, so now I'm taking up a large portion of the work fridge but I NEED it :P
