My name is Valerie, I'm 30, living in Tulsa, OK, and have had so many changes in the past two years. Two years ago I moved back to OK after being in Dallas, TX for 5 years. I've bought a house, gained two nieces, lost 25lbs for my friend's wedding, and completed my MBA.

My passion is photography but I also enjoy traveling, biking, hiking, anything outdoors, and my dog, Baxter.

Now, I'm trying to lose the last 26lbs while developing a healthier lifestyle. Before the wedding I weighed 180lbs, I was at 166 when I started the Fat Smash Diet and down to 162 when I found this website.

I'm eager to learn from everyone, meet and support new friends, and enjoy the information, recipes, and tips you all have to offer. Good luck to all!!

How much weight did EVERYONE take off in phase 1???

Phase 1 Folks help me !!
The first couple of days were tough in phase I but became easier. The last two days are also hard because you start thinking about all the new stuff you get to eat. While in phase 1 I lived on rice and beans. I took 1 cup brown rice, navy beans, 2tsp chili powder, and 2tsp cajun seasoning and mixed it all together cooking according to the rice directions. It was really good. A typical day for me was the following:

Breakfast: 2 scrambled egg whites, banana
Snack: Fruit, yogurt (low carb blue bunny. it has no aspartame), or both.
Lunch: Salad - lettuce, shredded carrots, hard boiled egg (without the yolk), black olives, mandarine oranges, garbanzo beans, and fat free catalina dressing.
Snack: Fruit smoothie - 1 strawberry yogurt, 1 cup milk, 1 cup strawberries, 3 ice cubes. Blend in the blender. It's awesome!!!
Dinner: Steamed vegetables and the rice and beans.

I would switch dinner and lunch just for a different schedule. Also, you can use any combination of yogurt and fruit for the smoothies. If I was hungry at any point of the day I snacked on raw veggies and fruit.

Continuing Phase I for more than 9 days
The book suggests going into phase II, then phase III, and THEN if your not satisfied going back to phase I before doing the maintenance phase. I'm going to do it this way just because I'm starting to really crave bread and pasta. After doing phase III I'm going to go back to phase I to lose the last few pounds. Hopefully there won't be any!!!! Very Happy If you do 9 more days just be sure you're getting enough protein with beans and tofu and such. You might start taking a multi-vitamin if you don't already. You don't want your body to become deficient in anything. Good luck and keep us posted!!!
