My name is Stephanie, I'm 22 years old and I'm really trying to be serious about losing my 50lbs this time. I have failed miserably in the past, not realizing that weight loss in a mental thing. This website seems very useful, and so far I have enjoyed using it. If any of you have any questions about nutrition or working out, don't be afraid to ask me! I have a lot to offer!

Motivation Problems :/
I also have a very limited budget. And I found that planning my meals for the week Breakfast, lunch and dinner and 2 healthy snacks, definitely helps cut down on my grocery bills. I eat a lot of produce and protein. I don't cut out carbs all together, because your body needs carbs to function, and if you cut it all out you may binge eat. I used to make a full box of pasta, and my boyfriend and I would easily eat half of it each. Instead now, to make the pasta last longer, I measure out two servings of dry pasta and only cook that. It definitely helps to shop by the sales, and try new foods. A lot of grocery stores have a "discount" produce rack. Where they put their "Damaged" produce and discounted prices. The damaged produce may have some bruises, but just cut around them if you're eating it raw.

Making meal plans also helps you stick to ONLY what you need. This will prevent throwing out rotten food and over spending. A lot of the times, vegetables and fruits have really great sales. For example, when you get your local grocery store's flier, if they have strawberries buy one get one free, look up recipes for strawberries. You can make low fat meal shakes at home, make fruit salads and benefit from the sales.

There is a store called "Aldi's" I don't know if there is one around you. But That is where I buy my bagged spinach and salad mic (.99 cent to 1.60$) some of their food isn't the best qaulity, but you can always get a great deal on paper products, cereal, nuts and seeds, some veggies and fruits.

Good luck! AND DONT USE DIET PILLS OR SHAKES. YOU DIDN'T TAKE A PILL TO GET FAT, THEREFORE YOU DON'T NEED ONE TO GET THIN!

GYM QUESTION!! help
I learned from a personal trainer that when you want to burn fat you should start your work out with 7 minutes of warm up, whether it be on the bike, treadmill or stair master. Then, you should strength training. I would do 4 sets of squats and 4 sets of lunges, then I would do different machines for different muscle groups. The trainer worked me for about 20 minutes or until I felt like I couldn't move. Then I did 15 mins of cardio of my choice (dancing, running, jogging, walking, elliptical, stair master, bike).

The reason for doing weights first is because it burns all of your body's sugars, then doing cardio last will burn the fat. Which is actually more effective.

Your question on whether or not it's more effective to run, then walk, then run again. It is. For some reason, when you run for say 2 mins, then walk for 2 mins and do it over and over. It burns more calories. You don't want to focus SO much on cardio, because you will plateau and your body will become used to it. You can burn fat and build muscle at the same time by doing strength training.
