I did a lot of thinking this weekend. My birthday is coming up, and the last 2 of them I told myself this time next year I'll be in the best shape of my life...so here I am another year gone, and still over weight. This time around I want it to be different. I don't want to feel disappointed in myself this time next year.
A few things I realized. I can not cheat...maybe some people can get away with a slice of pizza, or a piece of cake at a party, or have a cheat day...I just can't. I don't have the self control.
I have to start measuring out my food, and recording it everyday. If I don't I find that I sneak in bites of food here and there. If I write my food down I tend to really watch what I eat.
I have to exercise everyday...I noticed if I get a good workout in I watch what I eat as well.
So here's to another year! :)

Had fun at the pumpkin patch with the kids. Chasing them around counts as exercise right?! There were a lot of temptations there. Popcorn, candy, drinks...plus we stopped for pizza afterwards. I did pretty well. I cheated a little, but didn't over do it to much.

One day at a time...I have this routine when I fill up my truck I always get one of the big fountain drinks. I really wanted one today, but I resisted. I still would love one, but the good feeling of drinking water instead will do...

I was thinking back to all the times I've tried losing weight before and why I failed. I still can't pin point it exactly, and it could of been a few things really. One for sure is that I always feel so overwhelmed with counting calories or making sure I get to the gym for so many hours a week and follow my fitness routine exactly. And if I failed that I would just stop all together.
This time around I'm going to make a couple small changes every week, and really focus on them.
It's the middle of the week already, but that's ok. This week I'm going to replace my juice and pop with water. Also I'm going to exercise at least 30 mins a day.
