I am disabled. I have numerous health problems including Fibromyalgia and degenerative disk disease. I have a textural aversion to many foods. I am very picky in my eating and don't like many fruits or vegetables. I live out in the country but am not able to be very active due to pain and health issues.

New Dieter
Hi All. Quick intro. Just an old country gal who lives out in Western KY and loving it. Just me, Hubby and our fur-babies. All the kids are grown and I can say with much joy, living independently. I've got a lot of health problems stemming from working straight night shift for 13 years. Had to go help my Mom recently, she's 82, has lost 1 leg in a car wreck, 1 eye recently due to infection and had a high blood sugar incident that mimicked a stroke. It was a wake up call for me. As much as I love her, I really don't want to end up the same way. I've never really had to diet before so this is new to me. I decided that I was going to loose weight, no matter what. Hubby is right there with me, dieting and supporting.

I see the pics that people post and I see many really great dishes that I can fix for my husband (I love to cook) but not many I can eat. Any suggestions for those who truly Hate Veggies and dislikes most fruits? I grew up in a meat and potatoes family out in the country (w/grandparents) when not on the military base with Mom and Dad. I've always disliked nearly all veggies but will eat a few raw/uncooked. I can eat them in soups if they're cut small and I can swallow them without chewing. (Textural aversion happening there). Can't do eggs. I was lactose intolerant as a kid and Gma thought eggs were a great sub. (NOT!) I hate eggs. I'll fix them anyway someone else wants but cannot eat one myself. I guess if it's not lean meat, rice, pasta or potatoes, I have trouble. Going to add more of the raw veggies I can eat and more fruits to the diet. Going to try smoothies (fruit & veggie). Fortunately, Hubby is more than happy to diet with me and he's easy. He eats anything that doesn't eat him first.
