I stayed clear of Super Bowl parties as it is always too many tempting foods - I'm finding that if I really keep myself away from the temptations, my cravings aren't so bad. Duh.
Today is Day 16 of the 21 Fresh Start Cleanse. I'm feeling really well - my skin looks great for a change, lost a few pounds, no stomach issues - I think vegan agrees with me and my body. I intend to keep a lot of the good habits that I'm forming, but so worried to introduce other foods into my diet for fear that it will be a slippy slope for me. I'm really nervous about it. My husband and I have agreed that we will do Green Smoothies for morning (I had already committed to that), and really lessen our purchase and consumption of processed foods. My greatest challenge with that is preparation. That means a good amount of cooking, always having something ready to eat when I get hangry.
To add to that a big goal is to avoid SUGAR. The more I read the more I understand how BAD it is in any form. I brought in my Costco size box of Splenda to work. I always used it in my tea and hot milk. I guess I can use honey although I not the biggest fan of the taste of honey (due to me OD'ing on it when I was young).
Over the weekend running errands, I was hit with the most delicious smells coming from restaurants. It made me stop and think about all my triggers - sight, smell even the written word - when reading the mention of good foods can make me think "oh I feel like some...right now" and would get up and eat it/something. Even when I'm not hungry. It's been a habit.
