Well, one week in Hawaii saw a net gain of 5.1 lbs. Plenty considering I did drink shakes, ate lots of vegetables, and as much as possible, stayed away from bad carbs like rice.
Getting back into the routine this week.
Aloha!

gaining 2.5 lb a week
02 February 2017
I am part of a Herbalife challenge group that meets once a week. The organizers present health topics each week to help us with our goals. Last week's topic was increasing activity. I sure have been able to do just that.
Last night I got all cocky and thought I could go shopping at three different stores in preparation for my upcoming vacation. Normally there is a lot of leaning on shopping carts and shuffling of feet. I felt pretty good at the first store, taking my time. At the second store, I was beginning to feel it, perspiring profusely. At the third store, lots of leaning and shuffling. But I made it home in one piece drinking about a half gallon of water. (Note to self: Take your water bottle next time.)
This week I ate more carbs than the previous weeks but kept it under control. I had been craving an egg salad sandwich. Indulged in one nice serving of ground chicken spaghetti.
I am very happy with this loss! Though my measurements did not change this week I did fulfill a long time goal of walking to my office without stopping. Plus I hit two 3,000+ days in steps this week.

I am going on vacation Saturday, returning home to Hawaii for a week. I am taking my Bullet and shake stuff with me. I definitely want to enjoy my vacation and eat Hawaiian/Hawaii food but with portion control and lots of walking.
Be well. Aloha!

losing 2.4 lb a week
30 January 2017
Today I reached a goal a year and a half in the making. It was pretty amazing because I have not been putting too much thought into how much better I feel. 17.5 lbs down and I can finally walk from my car all the way to my office without stopping. It has been that long since I have been able to do this. I usually stop at least twice rain or shine.
It is not a long distance for able-bodied folks. But to me,
it is
far
. I was sweating and breathing hard but did not experience the usual pain requiring me to stop and sit down.
So happy!
Now to repeat it tomorrow.
Aloha.

"Holy Crap!" is what I let loose in the Kaiser office when I saw the number 507.5. I immediately apologized, but the joy remained.
Minutes earlier while waiting to be called, I was performing Jedi-mind techniques on myself. "Be happy with whatever the result turns out to be," I convinced myself.
I know my potential to reduce my weight is high because of how heavy I am, but it sure did feel good to see that number.
Been lagging on the steps this past week.

I should note that I have found new love for roasted carrots and brussel sprouts. Never liked them before, but now, yummers!
Aloha and peace to all.

losing 9.5 lb a week
19 January 2017
Down 2 lbs! Yay for the progress. Though, I was actually disappointed in the results because I felt lighter by at least 5 or 6 lbs.
However, my great achievement this week is the decrease in size.
Upper Chest (-3 in), Chest (-3 in), and Abdomen (-2 in). These are the only measurements besides weight that I am tracking.
So happy now!
Also, I've met my goal of 2,000 or more steps per day, except for the weekend days.

Until next week, aloha and best to all on their own journey. Mokupuni
