Staying steady. I am basically just waiting to find some inspiration before I start trying to lose again. I can justify this by the fact that I have a gorgeous silk dress for my Dad's wedding this coming weekend, and it's already a bit too big, because I wasn't sure how much I'd lose before wearing it. Happily, I underestimated, but if I lose any more, I will be forced to have it taken in, and I just don't have cash for another personal item. I wish I had had the skills to take it in myself, because it could really show off the fact that I have a waist again! It makes me sad that it looks kind of shapeless at this point, because it was such a splurge (I got away with this because the kids aren't invited, so I didn't have to come up with 3
more
cute outfits). I'll try to keep any photos of me from the waist up, I guess. At least my collarbones will be on display!

I appreciate the support and suggestions about the "treat vs. quantity" debate and the lack of sleep issue. I'm trying hard on the eating, but the sleep thing is simply because I'm mostly alone with 3 little ones every night, and two of them are having sleep troubles of their own. Between the night terrors of the 2 1/2 year old, and the sudden increase of hunger from the baby (every 2-3 hours again!), I feel like I've gotten away with something if I total about 4 hours a night. Fortunately, I can fall asleep in a matter of minutes. It's just not being allowed to continue that's killing me.

What a ridiculous pattern. I have been getting so little sleep that when I get hungry, absolutely nothing without sugar will do. Now, I mean that I still eat the usual stuff, all the veggies and lean meat, seafood, etc... but I'm not remotely satiated, no matter how much I eat. At that point, do you just eat the d*&% sugar, or do you eat mega portions of the "right" stuff that add up to way more calories and fat? My biggest "sweet" is an organic frosted mini-wheat cereal. I could eat about 6 of their prescribed portions at a time; there's not a huge amount of sugar in each serving, but when you add them together, it's no wonder I'm expanding. Also fighting the battle of the bloat this week.
Really, really, REALLY need sleep. I think if I can get some rest, my bod won't crave as much crap to keep it going during the day. Unfortunately, it's out of my control for the time being, so all I can do is try to fight the good fight with food.
