02 December 2010

Okay so it's been 12 days since I last weighed in. During the last 3 months, I have been so back and forth on this. Most of the time I stayed pretty focus, then Thanksgiving happened. I gained 6 pounds and was back up to 204. As of this morning it's back to 197. I am trying my best to get my motivation back but it is extremely hard when you have all this yummy food around you and people eating it in front of you!

One thing I decided last night was that I would try some different foods to see if that helps me get back into the swing of things. So I bought some Chobani Greek Yogurt (have tried another brand but was told this one was the best!, some salmon burger patties *I can't WAIT to try these* and some Almond Butter. Yes almond butter...it's like Peanut Butter but less tasty and healthier (so I've heard). Here's the results:

Choboni Greek Yogurt: PASS! I loved it. I had the blueberry kind (and bought strawberry too)....don't know why but it was tastier than another brand I had tried. I like it....though still not sure I'll buy it as my kids tend to waste my yogurt even when I buy them the gogurt things for themselves.

Salmon burger patties: IDK yet....I haven't had time to try them....thinking lunch tomorrow.

Almond butter. 7 bucks for a jar of Almond Butter is ridiculous and I will not do it again. It has about the same caloric content of Peanut Butter, for about the same serving size and a lot less taste. I need to compare the jars again but think the protein is about the same. Only real difference I read about was the almond butter was higher in the "good fats". I will not waste 7 bucks but it will be tough to finish off that jar. WAS GROSS! At least it was in a sandwich made from wheat bread.

Who knows maybe trying some new things is just what I need to kick myself back into gear. I hope so. If anyone is still reading, good luck!
