Does "burning protein" cause a higher calorie burn than "burning carbs"?
You have things a little mixed up. The Energy in Protein and Fat are both measured in calories. Protein has 4 calories per gram and fat has 9 calories per gram. 1 lb of fat is aproximly 3500 calories and 1 lb of protein is about 1800 calories. If you where to "" burn 1lb Fat would defiantly burn off more calories. Our body's first preference is however protein. Starvation makes the body store as much fat as possible the next time you eat. The only time your body consumes fat as primary is under ketosis. Not almost ketosis but full on.
