Hi All,

I am 32 years old and from The Bronx in New York City. I moved to NC 4 years ago and I love it here. I have tried many diets and written a few bios just like this 1 so here goes. I have been overweight all my life and obese for the last 10 years of it. I have tried many diets my greatest success came with Atkins 2 years ago I lost 50 lbs. I gained it all back of course since I am a real carbaholic. I have no major health issues thank u God except PCOS which basically means I am insulin resistant yada yada and at risk for diabetes, and all that other bad stuff.
SO I started this diet because I am tired of this weight and not just mentally. I am physically tired of carrying myself around.
You know when you are fat you dont usually do much ... u park as close as possible to stuff so you dont have to walk etc,.. folks call it lazy its so not.... U are usually tired as hell.... maybe because u have sleep apnea and u never get a good nights rest anyway. Well then that rare occassion comes where u do something lets say go to the mall because you are a makeup addict and as you are walking around the mall u notice after not many minutes of walking that your body hurts... then u feel like a piece of crap because u realize... I am not only fat I am out of shape and I have been screwing myself royally by parking close and avoiding stairs. Woohoo what a vent lol so thats why I am here to undo my damage and get my arse in shape. I used to want to be a certain size and all that vanity stuff now I really just want to be in good shape and hopefully the vanity will follow.

Question for the veterans
Cabawi you are so insprirational, I do have a quick question about something you said "Sweetened instant is allowed" I thought someone said it had to be the oatmeal you cook becuz the other stuff is so powdered and I sure did not know it could be sweetened - do you know how muchj I love Maple brown sugar flavored instant? Please let me know if this is true becuase reg oatmeal is yucky.

Set a goal and make a decision to do it. Keep it in front of you. Think about all the reasons you want to achieve it, so that gets you through the times when you want to eat a whole box of donuts!

Set yourself up for success. Get all your favorite fruits and vegetables. What is your favorite yogurt? Have plenty of that on hand to have as a reward.

Buy oatmeal. Sweetened instant is allowed. Buy a half gallon on skim milk. Ripe bananas to help sweeten your smoothies.

Buy Progresso lentil soup and Amy's low fat split pea so that you have something to eat quickly when you don't have time to prepare something.

Get extra virgin olive oil. Buy organic free range eggs and a good egg separator.

Salsa. Helps those egg whites taste better.

A great recipe is black beans, corn, and salsa.

Prepare enough brown rice for a few days and put it in the fridge. It seems to take forever to cook.

Going out to eat? Check the menus on line. PF Changs has brown rice and Buddhas feast which is steamed vegetables.

Plan a time when you will exercise. It is ok to start out slowly. You can work up to it.

Love yourself enough to do this.
