Absolutely, good advice. I got out of the habit of doing this, but it's essential when the scale isn't moving but your clothes are looser. Sometimes you shrink without "weight loss".

Body image
I'm 23 and it's inspiring to see these stories, that image and culture have heavily influenced all of us. Absolutely, it's hard to wrench yourself out of looking at all the ads, the models, the movie stars, to look at yourself and your positive attributes. With advertisements screaming at us that we're not pretty enough unless we get this facial cream or that bathing suit, it's difficult to accept your own body. I have a friend that was a size 0 in high school and called herself fat. Now she's a 12, I think she looks great, but she's still moaning about it. Won't listen to anyone, not even her friends or boyfriend, but she's more glamorous then she knows. I'm loosing weight for myself--I want to be able to go hiking longer distances and keep up with my step son without loosing my breath. I don't think it should be about the clothes and the fashion, it should be about what you want out of yourself and your life.

Edit Initial Weigh In & Target
I'm wondering the same thing. I was guessing when I did the initial weigh-in at 205 Lbs, but I weighed this morning and I'm heavier than that (the shame....), so it looks like I gained 8 pounds overnight. I want to change the starting weight, but there's nothing I can find for it.
