It's hard to say how much of my weight loss is from me following the diet and working out or due to the fact that my old scale was ghetto. I have a feeling that at least 2 pounds of this dropped just by using my new scale. I guess I can still take credit for the loss though because I have lost the weight, I just didn't get recognized until I bought the new scale this week.

Weigh-in: 227.0 lb

still to go: 27.0 lb

I think I may have lost more than a pound, but I have this ghetto scale that isn't very accurate. I wonder if the rust all over the bottom affects its accuracy, or maybe the fact that I stand it up on end and every time I lay it down flat it goes backward and I have to re-adjust it.

I'm a little disappointed in my loss, but at least I made some progress still. There were a few times this week where I had some foods that were really high in fat. I just really need to use the good food guidelines and drink more water to help my body get rid of excess waste.

I have realized that I can eat within my points target and still make horrible choices for food. For example if I save up all my points until dinner I probably could barely squeeze in a really unhealthy meal at McDonalds. So, now that I am aware of that tendancy I am trying to fix the problem. One thing that has helped is to force myself to snack during the day and to be more aware of my fat intake. My goal is to stay under 60 grams of fat a day. I just arbitrarily chose that number because it felt reasonable as a starting point.

I am so excited! I lost the two pounds I gained, plus three more. Life is good!!
