Retired US Army, 10th Mountain. I was a police officer most of my life, married to the same lady for almost 50 years, two children, grown up, and 4 grandchildren. Over the past ten plus years I watched myself gain some 50 plus pounds that was not wanted. In that time I had two heart attacks and watched myself go to being a fat old man. My goal now is to drop 60 lbs and when I get to that weight look at what else is needed and may drop another 20 lbs to get to 180 lbs. I have gone from a size 34"W to a 42"W. Not good. I really miss hiking and backpacking and being over weight make that activity very hard. I plan on a slow weight loss and hope for a one pound per week average overall. I am giving me a two year goal on this and I have enjoyed the changes in my eating I have set in place. Wish me luck.
