Well, I've fallen off & on the wagon for a while. Just got a lot of bad health news, the worst of which, is that I have diabetes. One test came out as 9.5, when it's supposed to be a 6. That means my average sugar level is 275, when it should be 80-110. Good news is that I'm about the same weight as I was the last time I was on. Bad news is that I have an awful lot of health problems for being just over 40. :(

I've had problems with low blood sugar since high school, so figuring out whether this is type 1 adult onset or type 2 will be important (I think).

I've gotta get back on the wagon and stay there if I'm going to live a good, long life. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is bad enough. Now Diabetes on top of that. Also liver & blood issues. Ugh. I haven't been to the doctor in a couple of years and assumed I was generally healthy. What kick in the teeth. Especially b/c my diet doesn't include a lot of junk.

Once I get insulin and the blood tester, I'm probably going to use this journal space to track my sugar levels. Would be great if fat secret would add that as a tool! I'd also like to see glycemic index listed on the foods where available. I'm very glad to see that FS has a windows phone app now.

So, onward and upward. Hoping that with some firm commitment, I'll be able to turn this around, and hopefully be off or tapering off diabetes medication in 6 months to a year.

I am still sick. Heading into my 2nd week of another month of antibiotics. Afraid to weigh myself, also b/c it's that time of the month. Still trying to stay focused on watching what I eat and keeping within my calorie goals.

On a good note, the withdrawal from all the MS-related meds is getting better. No more brain zaps! Woo! Glad to say goodbye to Zoloft. Mixed feelings about Gilenya and the incontinence med.

While I'm not happy about being on antibiotics, doxycyclene has just about no side effects for me. Also noritriptilyne is much better for me than the aforementioned meds for incontinence, also helps with sleep. Hoping to get healthy and THEN get on BG-12 later this year.

Sad to see some of the improvements from Gilenya go away, feeling in my feet is poor, and the chronic random pain is hard to deal with. But, I've gotta keep going. Bit by bit.

I have started some activities!! I am helping walk our neighbor's dogs, and I went to the Y with Madison to swim. I am going to start up again with both next week. Happy to be doing something good for me.
