After 200 days of keeping spreadsheets on everything imaginable, I've learned that to lose weight reasonably this 72 year old must stay between 1050 and 1200 calories with 40 min of aerobic activity 6 days a week.

This is for folks who have tried the 5:3 Fast Program.
I did my first Fast day yesterday, eating 656 c and taking three 14 min. walks throughout the day. Felt fine. Then at midnight I really got hungry and could not sleep and ate 75 c. This morning awoke quite hungry and normally I don't. I had to have something with my coffee and since this is not a fast day, I indulged in a piece of raisin toast with 1 T of cream cheese and still continued to feel hungry and lightheaded. Finally I ate a scrambled egg and piece of turkey bacon, lay down for a 45 min, not having slept well. After rising I went to the gym to do my usual workout and it was extremely challenging, to the point that I stopped 10 minutes short of my normal 50 min workout. Female, 72, have exercised consistently for 40 years, but weigh 217 and have lost 32 lbs since Oct.
I would like to hear from anyone who has advice or experience with this program that might be pertinent to my situation....g

Just as I decided to do the 5:2 Diet Challenge, I broke a frigging plateau--FINALLY!
I am beginning the 5:2 Plan today with 760 cal and 4 10 minute walks to see how I do. Official beginning is Monday 27th but I'm taking a friend to lunch that day and so decided to start my First Fast Day early.
Will try to slowly move down to 600 c. and keep the walks.
