I am 27 years old, married, a dental hygienist, and diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease (resulting in hypothyroid) and polycystic ovarian sydrome. I have gained about 100 pounds over the last five years and am no longer the person that I used to be thanks to that. I have fought my weight my whole life, but in the 10 to 20 pound range and never to this extent. My self-esteem is now next to non-existant and I haven't ridden a horse in a couple years. I would be embarrased to even try to haul myself up onto one. I am also currently trying to get pregnant. So I want to lose the weight for my health, to help me get pregnant, and to get myself back. I am amazed at the smallest things in everyday life that have become difficult because of the extra weight I carry around now. I have considered checking into bariatric surgery, but my husband says absolutely not and is very supportive that I can do it on my own.

Whole Wheat Tortillas
I just wanted to let you guys know that there are "South Beach Diet" tortillas out there. I bought some last week, and they tast great. They are very plainly marked, with the South Beach Diet logo right on the front of them, and it's huge, so you can't miss it!

any other egg haters
I just found this new recipe and really like it..............

1 egg
2 tablespoons ricotta cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla
dash cinnamon

Mix together until smooth. Pour into a heated skillet sprayed with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. Flip after a couple minutes to brown the other side. Eat with sugar-free syrup. It comes out like a sweet pancake. Yum.........

Is there anything else sweet to eat besides Jello in Phase 1????
I do really like the sugar-free, fat-free pudding, but is it okay to have it on phase one, or do I have to wait until phase 2 for that?

Hoodia
Ha, I do agree with Victoria. There are a lot of weight loss "tools" out there that will tell you in the directions to, in addition to using their product, exercise and eat sensibly. That always cracks me up.

Actually, there are studies that show that there are certain substances that cause the body to use more calories. This information is broken down into subjects such as thermic response and resting energy expenditure as well as epinephrine outputs. Scientific studies are difficult to evaluate unless you have some sort of medical or scientific background in which you've learned how to interpret the very large amount of material that is included in a scientific report.
