Who is following your own healthy lifestyle plan?
I did my own thing back in 2005; and I lost 45 pounds in about 5 months. All I did was try to get a calorie deficit every day. That was the only thing I changed; I didn't workout; I didn't eliminate foods; I would just eat less.
Then little by little it came back; so I'm back on it again. Maintenance is a bit tricky; I haven't figured how to justify, in my own mind when I'm at my target weight; why I should have a smaller portion when I'm at my target weight...
So Maintenance is something I've been spending a lot of time thinking about recently; but losing weight is easy ONCE you educate yourself on:
- the basic food elements... protein, carbs, & fat
- what your caloric burn given your activity level
- what causes weight fluctuation (i.e. When I lift weights; my muscles get sore; the healing process begins; and the sore area becomes inflamed; it natural to see 'weight' gain but it's only water and will come off when the inflamation goes down.)
I wish they had done a better job teaching this stuff in school when I was younger.
