losing 0.4 lb a week

Things are going very well right now. I'm doing my part by sticking to my diet plan and doing some exercise every day (forcing myself as I usually forget!). I'm looking forward to wearing small clothes again.
Maintenance can so easily slip away from us, for any number of reasons. Every time we hit goal or get close to we say (meant sincerely) that we'll never put the weight back on.
But life happens. Health issues, personal issues, worries, problems - such things can intrude and even take over our lives for a while, and we, being human, cave in and go back to the food we used to eat for comfort and pleasure.
It's very hard to kick old habits and old lifestyles. Even though we may have been unhappy as a bigger person, food has medicated us and in many instances probably kept us sane! But at the same time the weight gain is like a punishment.
Tell yourself as I do now that it's only food. It is neither good nor evil. It is innocent! The food is inert and created by other humans. Some people can feast and stay thin. We can't. It's not a moral issue although we judge ourselves harshly as though we've sinned when we eat off-plan.
We must be kind to ourselves, and stop taking blame. It's our lives, our bodies, our needs and hopes. We're doing something about our problems! We're fighting back.
Give yourself credit for what we find very very difficult - eating less and losing weight x

losing 7.0 lb a week

Just realised that I've now lost 109 pounds of regain. I feel so blessed because I'm not always at the top of my game. I'm trying really hard to lose the remaining 12lb of my hypothyroid gain. Discipline and dedication are paying off.
I'm not happy when I'm fat. A little bit of extra is one thing but being heavily overweight just shuts me down. I count my blessings every day, of course. I feel that I owe it to my poor body - morbidly obese in the past - to get fitter and to stabilise at a healthy weight.
Keep at it, people. As hard as it is to lose weight, it's worth it x
