Struggling
In the beginning, I had a hard time with portion control and self control. I heard about a trick and it really worked for me.

When I eat (especially eating out which I do a lot because I travel), I would divide my food in half on my plate. I would eat that half and still be hungry (of course). Then I would tell myself that I had to wait 10 minutes and if I was still hungry I could eat half of what was still on my plate.

Sometimes I would end up eating it and sometimes I wouldn't. The trick for me was knowing that I didn't have to leave the table hungry or unsatisfied. I could have what I wanted until I was full, but only until I was full.

I was trying to think of a way to tweak this for your sweets issue. Maybe you can tell yourself that if you can wait 10 minutes, if you still want it, you can have half. If that wasn't enough you can have half of what is left in another 10 minutes. The trick is to wait just long enough for the craving to pass. But not to totally deny yourself because it is too discouraging and you might have a tendency to give up for the whole day if you mess up once.

I hope this helps.

Also, for the weight not showing make sure it doesn't say you are sharing with your buddies only. It has to say you are sharing with everyone.

Good luck and stick with it! We are all in this together.

Scale moves slow
I am in the same boat. This week I had to get my boyfriend to tell me I am doing good and look great to give me the encouragement I needed to get to the gym. I was looking in the mirror and couldn't see a single one of the 30 pounds that I had lost gone. However, he helped pump me back up and I made it to the gym.

Then I proceeded to do a 40 minute weight lifting workout followed by an hour and 15 minutes on the elliptical, a personal best for me. Smile

I actually need people to tell me I am doing great and look good. I am having a hard time finding the total motivation within me to keep going when I am tired and don't want to work out or I want to eat that full fat baked potato. But I know that about myself so I ask for it when I need it.

Good luck to you!

Will I ever be content with my weight?
I agree with Psy. 122 for your height is a good weight.

However, you could be what is called Skinny Fat. That means you don't have any muscle tone under your skin. You may not have much body fat, but you may not have much muscle either.

Get your body fat and muscle tone measured. If you are working out, add some light weight lifting 3 times a week. After 6 weeks, you will begin to see some definition in your muscles and I think you will be a lot happier with your body image.

Good luck and please be careful with losing too much weight. It can be very dangerous.
