Starving yourself for a calorie deficit? Don't - it'll only backfire!
I agree...I think. I just finished a 2wk bootcamp at our local gym complete with a nutrition plan, but I tracked calories here on fatsecret. I gave up all carbonated beverages, caffeine and severely restricted my artificial sweeteners. I easily had 500-600 calorie deficits everyday often barely breaking 1000 calories a day plus exercise. After 12 days, I lost 7.5lbs, 1% of bodyfat, and LOTS of inches...but I also lost lean muscle mass. Could it be that I was in fact starving myself and my body had to turn to its own muscle to function? Plus I was just plain moody all week too! This week, I am going to focus more on my calorie intake and see if I can get it up closer to my RDI in addition to my exercise. Surely, I will at least feel better mentally...well, as long as the scale doesnt move up, lol!

I'm a picky eater!!
Just throwing this out there...
Ten years ago I went on LA Weightloss at 226lbs. The counselor asked me what veggies I liked to eat. My response was a hesitant "um, broccoli and green beans?" She replied, You really need to learn to like vegetables in order for this to work. So my advice to you is to search for recipes and try things in a new way. Ever tried mashed cauliflower with ICBINB and skim milk instead of mashed potatoes? Or how about diced tomatoes and zucchini over soy crumbles topped with light parmesan cheese and some italian seasonings? What about a protein shake with spinach and/or zuchinni? Add a little fruit or sweetener and I promise you wont know the veggies are there. How about a stir fry with low sodium soy sauce? Really challenge yourself to open up your palate...try a new veggie a week. I made my family sausage wraps yesterday for lunch with butternut squash fries. Everyone licked their plates clean and had no idea they were eating veggies!
You can do it...yo
