Cannot believe what some people call diet food, esp. for diabetics. Bread and potatoes indeed.
Am rearranging my exercise program since I got so tired last week. Just trying to do too much. The days I play golf I am not doing treadmill, though I will continue to do 5Tibet resistance. Hard to believe that I am not eating enough, but if I am expending 1200+ calories playing golf each day, and only consuming 2260 then that's the way it is. I am upping my daily calorie intake to include another seedcake in the evening (about 200 cal) and we will see what happens.
It is easier to do it that way than try and figure out whole new recipes to incorperate the additional cal. And I really like the seedcake - makes a nice dessert.

A good week, everything followed closely. The total weight loss since the first is good, but the really remarkable thing is that my insulin usuage has gone down dramatically, 90%. Only took 10 units of Lantus last night, no novalog at all yesterday, and bs this morning was 118. Have hi carb day today and will watch it closley. I suspect 20 units will be needed now - yesterday fasting bs was 100. Also suspect very strongly that acholol is a major factor here (since I haven't had any) - we will see Monday night and Tuesday morning when the free days come around. It's hard to imagine the losing just 10 lbs. could account for this reduction.

Using less insulin already, taking 60 units lantus in the evening and less than 25 units novalog spaced out (usually most before oatmeal and bran muffin breakfast) - had been taking 50 units a day. BS levels staying lower - 101 fasting this morning. I made up a recipe for seedcake - a mixture of ground (not very finely ground) flax seed, pumpkin seed, sunflower seed, chia see, and hemp seed (which is really good) and honey. My neighbor then got me to put a little hazelnut flour in it (just finely ground nuts) and was that ever good. Make a great carry around snack, esp. on the golf course.

Wouldn't it be nice if this rate of change would be constant? New meaning for the term fat chance. Really took it off to start with though. The combination of not drinking acholol, exercise and reduced calorie intake seems to work. No magic pills here. Don't expect one to show up either. Been there, done that and own the T-shirt.
