It's easy in life to take things for granted. Having lived in the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest, I missed California's winter time fresh fruits and vegetables. Now that I'm eating more and more of them, my gratitude has grown exponentially. Ain't Mother Earth grand?

Hit a small plateau and haven't lost anything for the last 5 days. This doesn't concern me. I'm not in a race, but a paced, steady jog toward my finish line. What I know about how things are created (first in our mind, then in our experience) tells me that being kind and gentle with myself is far wiser than being discouraged. I refuse to let numbers on a scale determine how I feel about myself in this place and time. So today, I am celebrating the journey:)

By the end of November I should be at 215 LB. I'm finding it easy to stick to this because I'm eating every three hours a protein with a complex carbohydrate, focused on low glycemic fruits and veggies. The missing component is honoring my commitment to physical exercise. There's no excuses.
Yes, I'm busy running my own company, going to school two nights a week, sitting on the Board for a non-profit, acting President to a Business Professionals Networking Group, and then there's book club. That's just the thing. I've managed quite well to fill in my calendar with all of these activities, which means I can fit in exercise too. Path of least resistance? Creating excuses? Mary Morrissey says, "Anything worth doing, is worth doing it poorly at first". I'll have to get my poor ass to the Gym!!
